Atlantec Software is a leading developer and supplier of advanced business-oriented statistical software in the areas of database analysis, and retail demand forecasting and analysis. Formed in 2002 and wholly owned by its founder directors, Atai Winkler and Alan Thorburn, it combines the distinct but complementary skills of advanced statistical modelling (Atai Winkler), and software design and development (Alan Thorburn).
Atlantec Software's flagship products are proMISS and proFORE.
- proMISS imputes missing values in databases and so adds value to the 'stock of knowledge' held in the database. By imputing the missing values, more information can be extracted from the database, thereby allowing better business decisions to be made.
- proFORE forecasts the daily sales of all types of product, particularly perishable and other limited-life goods, throughout the year. It pays particular attention to periods of skewed sales such as Christmas and Easter when changes in people's daily shopping patterns change the usual daily trading patterns. It also has a powerful segmentation tool for analysing and grouping products according to their sales profiles.

Product philosophy
The philosophy of Atlantec Software is to design and develop software that uses advanced statistical modelling techniques, many of them proprietary, to solve current real business problems that are not addressed satisfactorily by existing software. Our software products are based on many years experience working in the areas of statistical modelling and software development, and they represent radically new solutions to these problems.
Although the products are very powerful and solve complex problems, they have been designed around the requirements of end-users — they require a minimum understanding of statistics and minimum user-intervention. Users only have to select the data — they are not asked to select the 'correct' model or make other choices. This means that Atlantec's software works quickly and efficiently to supply the information that users need for their businesses.
